Project Type

Portfolio and Service Website

SM2 Design, an emerging interior design studio, needed a website that would reflect its sophisticated design approach and attract new clients through an elegant and intuitive digital presence.

The primary goal was to establish an online identity that mirrors their aesthetic—natural, warm, and refined—while clearly communicating their services and portfolio.
( Objectives )
  • Create a minimalist yet emotional website experience aligned with the brand's design philosophy.

  • Showcase completed projects with large, atmospheric imagery.

  • Clearly present the services offered.

  • Highlight the founder’s professional background and approach.

  • Ensure easy navigation and a pleasant mobile experience.

  • Limited design flexibility

  • All posts look the same in different blogs

  • Design agencies and template creators needed more control over layouts

Research & Inspiration

I analyzed other high-end interior design studios to identify common trends—full-screen visuals, neutral palettes, and minimal text. I also met with the founder to understand her values, aesthetic preferences (Japandi, Scandinavian influences).

Information Architecture

The site structure was intentionally kept simple:

  • Pradžia (Home) – Hero image, brand statement, featured projects

  • Projektai (Projects) – Case studies displayed in a grid

  • Apie (About) – Personal story and credentials

  • Paslaugos (Services) – Full project breakdown

  • Kontaktai (Contact) – Form and contact info

Visual Design

  • Color palette: Neutral tones with warm accents, echoing natural materials

  • Typography: Modern and clean sans-serif for a contemporary look

  • Layout: Grid-based with generous white space to elevate visuals

  • Imagery: Full-bleed photos to showcase spatial design and material textures

UX/UI Decisions

  • Balanced white space with emotional imagery to create a calming first impression

  • Used microcopy sparingly to let images and layout speak

  • Designed a highly visual and scannable services page to clarify the design process

  • Developed mobile-first interactions ensuring seamless navigation

( Results & Insights )
A clean and calm interior design portfolio that reflects the studio’s real-world style. The website feels clear, quiet, and easy to navigate.
  • The site feels like a digital extension of the studio’s interior work

  • Instantly communicates trust and aesthetic maturity

  • New clients have already reached out via the contact form

  • Owner received positive feedback from clients and collaborators

STRATEGY & APPROACH

SOLUTION #1

Pre-designed Presets

Create a set of ready-made post page layouts for users who want a quick, polished design without manual customization.

Strategy - 1.png

SOLUTION #2

Granular customization

Let users select any part of the post page (e.g., title, body, author section) and adjust its design settings individually for more creative control.

Strategy - 2.png

SOLUTION #3

Simplicity & Customization

Ensure that non-designers can easily use presets, while advanced users and design agencies have deep customization options.
